  • CLT panels

    CLT panels

The term "Cross Laminated Timber" means timber layers glued together at perpendicular angles. CLT panels are produced from wooden boards glued together crosswise under high pressure. Polyurethane adhesives are used to glue the layers together. They do not contain any health-damaging formaldehydes or solvents. These panels consist entirely of sliced dry soft or hard wood. Timber layers are glued together crosswise and their number ranges from 3 to 7. The panel thickness usually varies from 6-12 to 40 cm. The length is up to 12 meters. Width is up to 2.80 meters. CLT-panel has good thermo-insulation properties. Therefore, walls made of these panels with a thickness of more than 200 mm may not require any heat insulation at all. Since in these panels timber boards are positioned crosswise, they possess high strength, low deformation, excellent compression and tensile strength. This is why theses panels are widely used in construction of multi-story facilities. Panels produced using this technology have high fire resistance. Another very important advantage of using CLT panels in construction is the lack of shrinkage of these panels. Since a building made of CLT panels does not demonstrate any shrinkage, it can be commissioned after completion of all finishing and communication works.
